It was the main venue of the 1987 "National Sports Festival," the biggest event organizedby the
Japan Sports Association.
日本体育協会が主催する国内一大イベント「国民体育大会」1987年大会の主会場となった。
The athletics stadium is first-class certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations
(JAAF). The local professional football (soccer) team FC Ryukyu uses the facility as its home
stadium.
陸上競技場は日本陸上競技連盟（JAAF）の第1種公認。またサッカースタジアムとしても地元プロサッカーチーム「FC琉球」が利用。
The leisure facility includes a campground, an observation deck, and more.
キャンプ場や展望台などレジャー施設も充実。
The site is divided into 3 zones: sports, forest/water, and beach. It boasts an area of
approximately 70.4 hectares, making it perfect for warm-ups and jogging.

海浜」の3つのゾーンに分かれた敷地は約70.4haの広さを誇り、ウォーミングアップやジョギングにも最適。
The auxiliary field adjacent to the athletics stadium is third-class certified by the Japan
Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF).
陸上競技場に隣接する補助競技場は日本陸上競技連盟（JAAF）第3種公認。
The facility is fully equipped with a swimming pool officially certified by the Japan Swimming
Federation, gymnasium with a training room, 16 artificial turf tennis courts, and
more.
日本水泳連盟公認の水泳プール、トレーニング室完備の体育館、16面の人工芝テニスコートなど充実した設備。
The stadium renovation will be complete in 2018.
※The west pitch is scheduled for completion in
2019.
2018年には蹴球場がリニューアル完成予定。
