［1/21] 19th Ryukyu Horse Racing Unmaharashii 2024 @ Okinawa Zoo

The Ryukyu Horse Racing Umaharashii, a traditional culture of the Ryukyu Arc region that had been practiced for about 300 years since the Ryukyu Kingdom, had temporarily ceased due to the war, but Okinawa Zoo, in cooperation with local organizations, revived it in 2013 for the first time in about 70 years. In the competition, horses from all over the prefecture, including remote islands, gather to compete in the beauty of running as one. In addition, there will be a variety of workshops and exhibitions to learn about Okinawa's history and culture, and of course, food stalls will be open for visitors to enjoy.
