World Sun Bear Day Special Event
May 16 is World Sun Bear Day!
World Sun Bear Day was established by Wong Siew Te, a sun bear researcher who founded the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Center in Borneo, Malaysia.
This day commemorates the first successful reintroduction of a rescued sun bear into the wild and aims to raise awareness about the endangered sun bear and the tropical rainforest habitats they depend on.
Sun bears are the smallest bear species in the world, living in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. They are a precious species listed as vulnerable. To help visitors learn more about these amazing animals, there will be special guided tours, quizzes, and a feeding experience.
Original sun bear-themed merchandise will also be available. This is a fun and educational event where guests can deeply explore the charm of sun bears.
