Meaning 'to mix up', 'champuru' is the name given to typical Okinawan home cooking. 'Champuru culture' is a term often used to express the culture of Okinawa City. With around 40 nationalities represented among its residents, Okinawa City certainly has a 'champuru' aspect to its food culture with Indian, Mexican, Peruvian, and American foods being just some that you can enjoy. Even traditional local Okinawan food such as Okinawa soba or goat dishes are set apart by their own 'Okinawa City' style.
