Guinea Pig Appreciation Day Special Program
July 16 is Guinea Pig Appreciation Day. The day was established by a Canadian animal rights organization to promote the proper care and treatment of guinea pigs. In conjunction with Guinea Pig Appreciation Day, Okinawa Zoo will hold a special hands-on program! Using karuta cards that even small children can enjoy, participants will be guided through guinea pig characteristics and trivia while the cards are read out loud. Participants who get the most cards will receive a present. In addition, guinea pig stickers will be provided as a participation prize.
