Forest Chair
Let this championship-winning bartender stir up something good for you!
Bar Forest Chair opened in May 2014 on Misato Odori (Prefectural Road 75). With bartending experience at Zampamisaki Royal Hotel in Yomitan, and Naha’s Bar Radio, owner Kobashigawa wanted to open a store closer to home and went on to open Forest Chair at this location. The meaning behind the name is simple: you can relax with your drink as if you’re sitting on a chair in the forest.
It’s here at Forest Chair where you can taste their highly recommended fruit cocktail. Mr. Kobashigawa (a two-time Okinawa cocktail championship winner) makes the drinks using fresh seasonal fruits as well as vegetables, such as tomatoes and goya. Feel free to choose from the list of other recommended mouth-watering fruit cocktails, which can be enjoyed for a reasonable flat rate of ¥900 no matter the amount of ingredients used.
The food served at Forest Chair is exceptional. Their “Salmon Cream Ajikuutaa Pizza” and “Wakadori Momoniku Confit” are highly recommended. Their rich original bagna cauda pizza sauce (a blue cheese and cream mix) topped with cheese, salmon, and broccoli are a match made in heaven. The chicken thigh confit slowly cooked to juicy perfection in oil, herbs and garlic is scorched right before being served creating a crispy outer skin to bite your teeth into.
They’re open until 4:00 in the morning, so you can take it slow as if you’re in the forest far from the hustle and bustle of the city. To complement your relaxing time here, how about a delicious cocktail and a delicious dish to go with it?
