Hidden away inside Okinawa City’s Ichibangai shopping arcade is Sibile Kurage (pronounced SHI-BI-LE KU-RA-GE). Customers gather here to relax and enjoy hookah. The owner, Taka, had been looking for a location to set up shop in Tokyo, but to no avail. A friend recommended he look in Okinawa and the rest is history.
The eastern music and interior of the store will put you in the right mood to enjoy any one of their 60 different flavored tobaccos. Since the smoke is drawn through water, people who don’t normally smoke can take pleasure in the experience as well.
They also have an extensive drink menu so you can relax with your favorite drink.
One hookah for a reasonable fee of ¥800 will last you about a good 45 minutes. First timers are recommended to share with friends.
