Okinawa City Library

The Okinawa City Library boasts the largest single floor space in Kyushu.

The Okinawa City Library relocated and reopened on the first floor of Okinawa City Korinza in May 2017.

The library, which was previously located on the second floor of the Okinawa City Cultural Center, felt the increasing demand to meet the diversifying needs of citizens over the years, and many requests for the construction of a new library were received. In response to this, the library was relocated from its former location in Uechi, Okinawa City to the Korinza building in Chuo, and opened in March 2015 after the "Okinawa City Library Development Basic Plan" was formulated, welcoming today's library with new functions and scale.

The total floor space has tripled, and the number of books has increased by about 30,000, totalling to approximately 230,000 books, making it the largest library on one floor in Kyushu.
The library also has a children's room where parents and their children can relax and read books, making it an enjoyable place for the whole family to use.

Enjoy walking around the city while reading a book at the city library, which boasts the largest size in Kyushu.
