Koza Crafts Shop Fundou

The store's name “Fundou” is a word in the Okinawan language (Uchinaaguchi) that refers to a “clamp” that holds wood together. The name was chosen in hopes of bringing together “people” and “craftsmanship" that gather here.

In the spring of 2024, it will relocate from the Gate 2 Street to the Ichibangai Shopping Arcade! A wide variety of crafts made in the city, including Chibana Hanaori, the traditional textile that Okinawa City is proud of, completely handmade bamboo crafts, Ryukyu glass, pottery, sanshin, woodwork, and more await you. Visitors are welcome to try out some of Koza's highly popular products, such as China Audio and Matsuda Guitars.
The shop also serves as a place where visitors can interact with craftspeople through production demonstrations and other activities, while providing information on the appeal of craftsmanship to both local visitors and tourists.

・Color-painting dragonflies made of bamboo: 1,500 yen
・Assembling and coloring a stag beetle or rhinoceros beetle made of natural materials: 1,500 yen

・Making umagwah from kuba leaves: 500 yen
