Sonda Youth Association
Their seamless performance of up-tempo dances is quite simply spectacular. Also worth seeing is the women's hand dance using refined, feminine hand movements (“Koneri Te”). In 21 years of the All-Island Eisa Contest they took first place a record number of 7 times. It is said that the men-only dance of “Yakimaji Eisa” from Goekuson Nichizato Village (where Kadena Air Base now stands) is the origin of this dance.
